Spring has sprung again

*The weather has been great for the past week or so, and we've taken every opportunity to get out on our bikes. In fact, I think we are cutting it close with the 5-0. HG, Dogga, Bob & his wife, and myself were out this past weekend on our 4 bikes enjoying the sun. We hit a nice open double lane and the boys decided to open their bikes up, and of course I had to keep up. As we all were letting up and coming to the top of a hill, opposite of us comes a state trooper.... We were letting off, but we were still way over the limit, however the trooper didn't pull a U-e so we continued on our way.

*Yesterday, I was riding home for lunch when a car in front of me threw on their brakes. Given that there was a second lane, I went around them in the second lane, only to be flagged over by two town cops (yes, it takes two evidently). I didn't have my registration with me (oops, I have to look for it now) so the first crime stopper went back to his cruiser to call in my plates. The second cop continued to radar all the vehicles, and make small talk and reassured me I wasn't getting a ticket. I walked away with a verbal warning to slow it down, and went on my merry little way. (When I came back to the office I found out that there has been a "speed trap" or "traffic study" going on in that area for a while since a few of my co-workers have seen the cruisers there a few different days as well as someone taking plate numbers. It's a construction area at this point with additional buildings being built, and given the congestion of the area I wouldn't be surprised if there is in fact some traffic counting going on.)

*Last weekend I was exposed to handbag heaven, or hell depending on how you look at it. I bought a Prada and Coach bag (with certificaation) for under $50.... Seriously this isn't a good thing, but at least it's a few hours away so I can't just "pop in" and buy a bag every day.

*Knitting.... really not happening. My current project is a wrap sweater (in a cool cotten/linen yarn) for my prego SIL, but it's taking forever and my motivation is lacking. It might be because there are almost 200 stitches in a row of 12 inches of stockinette.... or it might just be because the weather has been great and I have too many other options.

April showers brings... out the riders

Hooray, hooray, the snow is melting!!
After seeing some brave (or crazy) people out on bikes for the past couple weeks, I finally got my bike out. There is still some loose gravel & sand out there but the roads are clear, albeit frost heave laden. I was prepared for something to go wrong the first ride out (stalling at a stop, flip flopping you know, the usual) so when I returned home with out any incidents and surprisingly being able to ride (because, you COULD forget...really it's easily forgotten *note the sarcasm)I was thrilled. Actually I was thrilled when I was on my bike, all I could do was smile... Hooray hooray, riding season is upon us. I have my bike scheduled to go in for an inspection, a service, and possibly being lowered (what can I say, I still can't touch. I thought I'd magically grow over winter, which I might have, just not vertically!) next week and then I'm good to go.

Oh yes I am also scheduled to take my motorcycle test... you know 'cuz it might be good if I had it.

My SIL called, the ultrasound says they are having a......
Girl. Yup, revenge is so sweet! Both my brother's getting girls after all the torture and humiliation I had to endure... sweet sweet revenge. (*I say torture with the utmost love for both my brothers)

I've got a super secret project going on for a couple gfriends, that I am excited to begin. I will be dusting the cobwebs off my sewing machine this weekend I am sure. (Hey honey, you hear that, you'll have uninterrupted PS3 game time!)
If everything turns out well, I may also have tangibles to donate to the U.T.E.R.U.S Brigade(other link) (although I don't understand why I can't bottle and sell my sarcasm!)I think it's another worthy cause, and am bidding on a couple great items. One item in particular I was madly bidding on (in my excitement) without checking the currency conversion.... Yeah. The US dollar? Very weak... I've stopped bidding, and thankfully someone else outbid me. I told HG about it, but didn't tell him the price I was bidding at. Helen, I love you, but I might be 6 feet under if I didn't stop bidding on the necklace.

I'm currently knitting a wrap sweater for the prego SIL, I'm only two inches into the 12" of stockinette stitch and already I'm getting bored. The original pattern is for the back and two sides to be worked separately, but I'm lazy so I'm modifying the pattern as I go to be seamless. We'll see how that works out when I get to the sleeves.

I finished reading the two books of Eragon, and can't believe that the story was the conception of a 15 year old brain....seriously. What was I doing when I was 15? Why wasn't I creating a best seller and making plans on being a rich & famous by the time I was 22?

I recently received a much anticipated hand made skirt from Rose (Rose is mother to Hippy brother's wife, who is my pregnant sister in law. ) Anyway, I love it, it evokes all sorts of optimism of spring and warm weather. I think it will become a favorite constant.

HG and I have been talking about another bike, well more a different bike for me. It's been mostly idol conversation, as we are anticipating some substantial expenses this summer, with a reception and a house (hopefully) in our plans. However HG did stop in to our local Harley dealer and checked out some bikes that I would be able to touch on (given that is a main issue with my bike) but the one I liked the most? Well of course it would be one of the bigger and more costly bikes. (seriously, do I get an award for this kind of luck?) The bike is sexy, seriously, if I could actually handle the bike (which definitely remains to be seen given the motor is bigger than HG's huge Road King) I would be THE GIRL. I'll continue drooling and dreaming, but in the mean time, I'm waiting for the rain to stop so I can ride my motorcycle. I figure I should get some points for being the only girl in our group of friends that actually rides her own.

Pony Up.

Oh, and I almost forgot. We (as in my department) survived the fiscal year end. (We should get badges for that kind of shit here at the "premier utility company".) First year in many that didn't have me on the verge of a nervous breakdown for the full 30 days of closing. Cheers to that.
